And the poor poor
Keep on getting poorer,
Yes they do.
Trump, damn his name is making some serious bank off the presidency this time around. It’s really the only thing he’s been genuinely effective at.
He’s brought oligarch-level corruption to the United States.
Historically, U.S. political corruption has been an amazing bargain.
- local politicians could be had for hundreds to thousands of dollars
- state politicians could be had for thousands to tens of thousands
- even federal politicians could be had for high tens of thousands
Seriously, while it may have cost a few hundred thousand dollars to have your own Senator, you could get one as a time-share for less than $50 thousand.
American politicians were a bargain.
But now the top price bracket has gone up. A lot.
It costs hundreds of thousands to millions just to rent Trump, damn his name‘s attention for a few minutes; you have to put billions into his son-in-law’s investment funds to see real results.
Because Trump, damn his name has discovered this time around that while there is real money to be had in the corruption, the easy money is where it always was: in grifting his own supporters.
Enter the $TRUMP memecoin.
Cryptocurrencies are, almost universally, scams.
They are, after all, literally just entries in a database that each cost fractions of a cent to create and maintain. They’re as close to nothing as it’s possible to get without taking a rocket into the vacuum of space.
The real money in cryptocurrency is in owning the system itself. Then you get to be the one who charges money to create and manage those database entries. The “sale” of newly created database entries and the fees every time one sucker “sells” that entry can add up to real money very quickly.
Which is how Trump, damn his name has taken in an estimated $635 million on the $TRUMP memecoin in the past year and a half, while the price it “sells” for has dropped 97% since it started.
The rich get richer, indeed.
This really is a completely new era of corruption in the United States, made possible by bringing the values and techniques of American business to the Presidency.
