You really should read “The Fucking News“.
For one thing, he’s a better writer than I am.
I know I’m not a particularly awesome writer. I don’t do it to be awesome; I do this because the alternative is climbing a clock tower.
Jonathan Larsen, of “The Fucking News”, on the other hand, is actually quite good at the writing part.
For example, I can write about how due process is a meaningless fiction unless it applies equally for everyone, sure. But Larsen (in “For Fuck’s Sake Stand Up For Everyone“) covers it much more extensively, and incisively. And curses a lot, which I actually have to put in some real effort not to do here.
He’s quite good at the cursing.
He also covers some important issues that the larger news media … politely ignores?
Most specifically, he’s put a lot of time into tracking the various religious organizations involved in the long term project of bringing Atwood’s Gilead to life here in the U.S. which no large news outlet seems to find interesting.
For some reason.
Anyway: read “The Fucking News“.
Read it every day.
Not religiously.
