Impeach: A Wall-of-Shame For Congressional Democrats

Yesterday, the House of Representatives had a vote over whether to impeach Trump, damn his name.

It went about how you’d expect it to.

Even discussing impeachment lost 232-147.

It was probably bound to lose anyway, since the Republicans have an elected majority in the House. That’s not what we’re here for today, though.

See, the Republicans have a really slim majority; impeachment shouldn’t have lost by 85 votes.

That happened because many of the Democrats decided to side with a fascist coup, and many more decided to set quietly and try not to be noticed.

Which is why we’re noticing them here today.

These Democrats, and all Congressional Republicans, supported Trump, damn his name over the United States Constitution.

The rest of the Democrats (including Huffman, my own representative) voted to keep talking about impeaching, so that’s nice at least.

I guess it could have been worse?

At least they managed 69% (147 to 67) in the correct direction.

No Republicans voted to talk impeachment, after all.

And yet, public opinion polls show much more than 69% of Democrats and 0% of Republicans support impeachment; in fact, they’ve shown since at least last spring that a majority of voters overall support impeachment.
