Beta Mail: They Have The Outline Of A Plan

(Wait) Oh yes, wait a minute, Mr. Postman.

Just so you know, ‘ratfuck’ is actually a legitimate term in political science.

So don’t go getting all offended if it gets used here a bit today.

The plan, as far as it’s obvious from outside the inner circle of Trump, damn his name and his cronies, for ratfucking this fall’s mid-term election is to generate as much chaos and uncertainly as possible and (presumably) just declare themselves to have won.

It’s the real advantage of incumbency.

And the main vector for that chaos is the good ol’ U.S. Postal Service.

The basic idea is to have the Postal Service:

refuse to deliver ballots to voters who aren’t listed as eligible in a federal database
refuse to deliver any ballots in states that don’t help build that database

Since the main users of vote-by-mail are Democrat-leaning voters and Democrat-leaning states, this could be expected to significantly suppress pro-Democrat votes directly in addition to creating enough chaos to make even an absurd declaration of a Republican victory stick.

And since the U.S. has a long and deeply stupid history of there being no consequences for anything powerful people get up to, they have every reason to think that pretty much anything is worth a try.

This is, of course, just completely illegal.

Completely.

I discussed this a month ago, when the courts refused to get involved since it hasn’t happened yet and of course if it hasn’t happened yet then no one can have been harmed yet and so of course the courts shouldn’t be involved yet.

Ah, such flawless and dignified legal reasoning.

(Never mind that preventing harm is kinda the whole point of whole sections of the law.)

So it’s pretty unlikely that anyone will actually stop them.

The executive is all-in on this plan, the legislature is a doormat and the judiciary is sitting around congratulating itself on it’s dignified restraint.

It’s going to come down to county election offices to come up with ways to get ballots to their voters (and collect them again) without using the Postal Service.

So maybe call your county clerk or recorder or whoever deals with elections in your local county and volunteer for that.

They’re gonna need all the help they can get dealing with these ratfuckers.
