This Needs Fixin'

The Democratic Party are so far proving to be as useless as they’ve always been when it comes to being the opposition party.

(To be fair, they’ve been pretty bad at governing too; this fiasco could have all been avoided if they’d actually done anything useful during Biden’s term.)

And let’s not talk about the hot mess that the Republican Party has turned into.

(But, since they seem to be all-in for the completely lawless disassembly of the federal government, there’s not much point talking about them anyway.)

We’ve had 6 weeks (it’s only been 6 weeks?!) to see Trump 2.0’s vision for America and it’s:

• herds of unqualified incompetents at the head of federal agencies
• grifters pushing the treasury into a wasteland of private currencies
• fools pasting citizens data into half-baked chatbots and calling it the future
• pompous idiots proudly showing off their ignorance in diplomatic meetings
• law enforcement stripped down to only the sycophantic thugs personally loyal to their leader
• compliant courts rubber-stamping anything the leader(s) order

I could go on, but I’m starting to run out of adjectives and don’t have the time or energy to refer to a thesaurus.

That is the country that Trump 2.0 is building.

This is what people who don’t follow your norms can do to a country that’s grown as ossified and slow as the U.S. has become.

Move fast and break everything, before the Sloths of State even realize that anything significant is happening.

They’re building a new country inside the stripped-down shell of the old, and frankly it’s not a country any of us should want to live in.

We’d be better off having no country at all.
