Forget the bunker, we’re gonna need need directions to a clock tower.

I have no idea whether the idiots responsible for all the “AI in Government” initiatives actually believe that AI is real or not, but it doesn’t really matter.

Dupes or frauds, they’ll wreck this country either way.

But to be clear: AI is not real.

“Generative AI” is actually real, but only in the most technical sense; it exists and that’s its name, but it’s also extremely stupid and very error-prone. It really doesn’t deserve to be called “intelligence” at all.

Generative AI in this case is just a probabilistic chatbot that knows literally nothing about the words it uses.

It’s “hallucination” percentage rates range from the mid-20s to the mid-80s; these rates are extremely varied based on which chatbot you look at and what topics and prompts you use.

Generative AI can’t even be wrong consistently.

And that is the technology they want to be making decisions about:

  • who gets government assistance
  • generating and parsing police reports
  • legal disputes
  • your personal taxes
  • pretty much everything that involves the State

This would create a State that, in everything it does, has a 25-85% chance of being incorrect.

This is, bluntly, a level of gibbering insanity that would embarrass an H.P. Lovecraft protagonist.

Now, this level of dysfunction can only sanely be viewed as illegal.

While this particular lunacy is certainly not specifically forbidden, the laws of the country do set out the expected behaviors of the government, and designing government systems such that their expected failure rates are anything more than the absolute minimum is clearly failing to follow these laws. It’s intentionally constructing government systems in such a way that they cannot succeed at the tasks required of them by the law.

So even if the regime had the legal right to reorganize the State to this degree, which it very clearly does not, the reorganizations it’s actually pursuing would still be illegal.

Since they render the State unfit to perform its legally-mandated functions.

But, given the various made-up standing and immunity doctrines (which are nowhere in the Constitution or laws of this country), and the current judiciary’s obvious ideological alignment with the regime, the chances of the judicial system intervening are minimal.

So, it’s time to update our apocalypse bingo cards again.

To sum up: the United States has fallen, and it’s State apparatus is now in the hands of Artificial Intelligence cargo-cultists who apparently have the gall to pass a law forbidding state and local governments from regulating their imaginary deity.

And sufficient control of the judiciary to prevent any legal challenge to this.

Thus giving us what is by all appearances a State religion that’s a perverse combination of millennarian christianity and the most ignorant techno-fetishism I’ve seen since the cryptocurrency fad.

Which, incidentally, these lunatics are also trying to bring back to life.

Every day I think that this cannot get more offensively stupid and absurd.

And every day they prove me wrong.
