Political Spelunking: Learning To Cave Like A Democrat

*There are a surprising number of results when searching for “cave” on .gov sites.*

The Democrats really are the most useless opposition party.

They didn’t do much when they were last in power either.

Two things that happened over the weekend illustrate this:

Trump, damn his name pardoned a bunch of the organizers of his January 6th 2021 insurrection attempt
a batch of Senate Democrats voted for funding the fascist coup that’s controlling the U.S. government

Trump, damn his name would not even have been a candidate in 2024, much less have won, if the Democrats had done the job they were elected to do. The fact that he’s in a position to issue pardons at all instead of a federal prison is due to the Democrats having wasted an entire Presidential term not actually prosecuting him for having led an insurrection.

And, obviously, voting for the coup’s funding priorities is not really an act of opposition is it?

Now, all my elected representatives except President are Democrats.

From County Supervisors to the State Assembly, Senate and Governor to the federal House and Senate every damn one of them is a Democrat.

And, frankly, the only one I kinda like is the Congressional Representative. Him I might vote for again, although I do think he’s probably had the job long enough so maybe not.

But the rest of them?

Replace them all with stuffed animals and I’d get about as much genuine representation out of them as I do now.

If this government “shutdown” ends with this particularly egregious example of political spelunking then I think it will be clear that the answer is “No”.
