Kick over the wall ’cause government’s to fall
How can you refuse it?
Let fury have the hour, anger can be power
Do you know that you can use it?

So far, the national Democrats have yet to actually meet the Trump moment with the appropriate level of seriousness or urgency.

They keep voting for his appointments and funding, for example.

And they really, really shouldn’t have done that.

At all.

Ever.

It was already clear by January 31st of this year, when I first started usinng the c-word here, that a politics-as-usual response would be inadequate this time around. Not that the Democrats’ performance the last time he was in office was particularly stellar, but this time was obviously going to be different.

And it’s not like we weren’t all warned; “Project 2025” was a public document, after all.

Although I’ll grant that seeing actual Nazi salutes was a surprise.

But the rest of it was all announced in advance.

And though it is certainly too late at this point to prevent significant and long-term damage to the United States, it is never too late to stop collaborating.

It may even be too late to actually save the parts of this country that made it worth saving, and a big chunk of the responsibility for that definitely belongs to the national Democrats for having collaborated in its destruction for so long.

The federal government is already in the hands of a fascist coup, and there are already masked goons illegally kidnapping people off the streets and the military is already illegally deployed against the citizens of three cities. The State is even already illegally taking direct ownership of well-known corporations, and attempting to illegally exert control over others.

Many parts of the federal government have already been illegally shut down.

This not only is happening, it has already happened.

So, Democrats: stop collaborating.

It’s past time; there is no negotiating left to do here.

There is no promise they can make that you can expect them to keep; no law you could pass that you can trust them to follow.

Don’t give them any more votes for this.

Let the appointments stop; let the funding expire.

It won’t stop things getting worse; it may be too late for that.

But it can limit how much damage they do.

And whatever happens, it will no longer be your fault.
