There really aren’t a lot of things you can get 5 million people to agree on in the United States these days.
Not even what to watch on TV.
5 million would be a pretty good viewership for a popular TV show. “Game of Thrones” did better than that, but not many other shows do.
And getting 5 million out of the house on the same day to do anything is spectacular.
Especially to a pubic demonstration of political agreement.
So, ya know, kudos on that, Donald.
We don’t agree on much, not even:
- the proper role of the State
- the appropriate powers of the police
- who should pay taxes and how much
- whether any gods even exist, much less which one(s)
I could go on (and on and on and on).
But most of us do agree on one thing at least.
The President of the United States is not a king.
No matter what the current occupant of the White House may want; no matter what the current majorities in Congress or the Supreme Court may want.
The President of the United States is not a king.
Never has been; never will be.
