A Republic: If You Can Keep It

I’ve said before that America’s second civil war has already started.

Although so far it appears that only one side is fighting in it.

And they’ve been preparing to fight it for quite a while.

In the summer of 2024, Kevin Roberts of the Heritage Foundation (and organizer of the “Project 2025” plan being implemented by the current regime) said on a podcast that:

“we are in the process of the second American Revolution, which will remain bloodless if the left allows it to be”

And he’s already been proved wrong about the “bloodless if the left allows it to be” part, since even before the relatively minor opposition of “citizens with whistles” started ICE & company had already killed.

What he probably meant was that the coup perpetrators wouldn’t get hurt at all if the left didn’t offer any opposition to the attempt to replace the republic with a fascist dictatorship.

That, at least, is true.

If no one opposes them, then only their victims will be hurt.

We should probably not let it go on like that, though.

And they don’t think that we will, since the threats of collective punishment for opposing them have already started.

Last week, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem held a press conference from behind a podium with a sign on it saying:

ALL OF YOURS

This does not appear to be an actual quote or a specific reference to anything. The post at that link accepts the explanation that it:

comes from various pulp fiction novels in the mob drama/military fantasy/revenge porn genre

Which may or may not be true; no one on the inside at DHS has stepped forward to explain it.

But it is definitely a threat.

It is a threat of massive, collective, punishment for opposing them.

It abandons any pretext of law or policing in favor of casting the situation as a conflict between two homogeneous forces and promises complete destruction of their opponents will be the response to any effective opposition.
