Sorry, folks; the U.S. is going to need to take some personal time for a while.

It must be really frustrating to see the U.S. switching sides in the middle of a war for your country’s survival.

I realize this doesn’t help, but it’s frustrating for us too.

The best y’all can do now is to string the Trumpers along as far as you can, to keep them on the sidelines and not actively supporting Russia.

Appear open to any suggestion; give them all the time they need to make their proposals.

Debate and nitpick every line of every suggestion.

But, don’t commit to anything.

And don’t give up.

Because you can do this without us.

And I’m confident that we will fix our issues enough to help again some day.

The Trump administration is a minority movement overall, and as they strut their ignorance and incompetence on the international stage they lose more supporters every day.

Seriously, just look at the tariff nonsense. As the stores empty and prices rise, even Trump’s most ardent supporters are starting to realize what a mess they’ve gotten us into.

So I sincerely doubt that they will be around for the long haul, and a day will come when we can contribute at least as well as we did before. Maybe even better.

It will take time, though.

It will be possibly months, probably years, before the U.S. (or, if this proves to be the end for the Union, its successor States) can be an effective global participant again.

But we will be back, in whatever form that is; we just have to deal with our own issues first.

And until then you’re pretty much on your own.

Sorry.
